A word of warning to all with 4 pot APs

I have just changed my pads (yes I know it is shocking) but I have found all the dust seals on the pistons have failed, they look like they have gone through a few heats cyles too many and just started to go brittle, then they have subseqently just fallen to bits :frowning:
Do they do a rebuild kit? (not that i will do that obviously)
I am quite pi$$ed off really as the calipers are only 4 years old and are supposed to be the up to the job
i’m not sure if the S1s have the same calipers or not?

Also noticed both my front ABS cables have been worn down and are nearly through on the wheels :astonished: I am going to re route the cables once they are repaired…

I had to have the dust seals on mine replaced last winter. Like your own the had become brittle and failed.

There is a kit to fix it although not sure how much.

Nothing uncommon on any make of brake caliper, they can go through quicker than that if your doing a lot of track days.

As Will says a dust seal kit should be readily available from AP.

thanks, not quite so worried now, I think they failed a long time ago by the looks of them, i’ll contact AP and find out the best course of action

Go back to 2 pots with carbon disks
