A garage companion for the Exige

I bought one of these today - A Yamaha XJ6

It’s being delivered on Friday - I can’t wait

Neal.

Nice bike.

Does it come with a donor card?

Take care

Nice Neal…good looking bike dude!

A Police officer mate refers to them as donorcycles

It’s not the first bike I’ve owned, but it’s been a few years. I’m pretty sensible on the road and know my limits!

At least you’ll see Pesky coming

I last owned a bike in 2005, but always regretted selling it.

As it had been a few years, I decided to do a ‘refresher’ course last week and it was BRILLIANT fun, I had more of a buzz at the end of the day than I do from a track day, so decided I just had to buy one again.

I’m aware of the risks, but think if you ride sensibly and keep your wits about you at all times then you’ll be okay. I always assume that every car in the immediate facinity is about to do something stupid!

I read an intersting article in Bike magazine a few years ago about why so many car drivers don’t seem to see bikes. It’s all about threat perception apparently! Sat in a tin box, a motorcycle (as well as bicycles and pedestrians) is not seen as a threat so isn’t registered unless the driver is actually concentrating on what they are doing. If approaching a junction and a car is waiting, I always assume that it is going to pull out.
