A few questions

Hi,
Iv just sold my Clio V6 255 and i was considering an Exige N/A.
I test drove 1 and it was a great drive, far more responsive than my V6.
I am also looking at more sensble options, things like new audi S3.
How do youa find the exige, i.e running cost performance ect??

Sean

Probably cheaper than the Audi! Only snag is that you WILL want to start playing around with upgrades and it will start to eat your money .

What a coincidence…

Before I got my S2 I had always previously sought a car that that did both, good on the track and good on the road and this time last year I was looking at a new S3 for exactly that reason.

Anyhow, Gav talked me round and after a test drives in various S1’s & S2’s I realised (pretty quickly) that the Exige was the car for me.

No comparison whatsoever.

S3 = too safe and dull on the track

Go for the Exige…

Buy an Exige !!! I bought one in April this year and i have no regrets whatsoever. Running costs are surprisingly cheap, i don’t think i have ever owned a car that gives you so much fun for such little money. Cheaper to insure than my Subaru Impreza, way better fuel economy than my Subaru and servicing costs are quite reasonable too. The only downside is, as Flying Exige said, you will want to start tinkering and upgrading which could get a little costly, but you just have to have some self restraint.

Go on take the plunge, i promise you will not regret it !

i understand the exige isnt about straight line speed but just how quick r they compared to things like the s3 ect??

performance wise how does it compare to the impreza?

The Exige is comparable to an Impreza if you are looking at dry stats on a page. They are good cars, I had one some years ago. But nothing compares to the seat of the pants driving that a Lotus offers, its as simple as that. Every time you drive an Exige its a pure adrenaline rush.

I use to have a clio V6, probably the worst car Ive ever owned, handled like I had a 3 tonne weight suspended 6ft behind the rear axle.

Go for an exige, 10x better car

ye i know what u mean after a short drive in the exige it feels so much more nible, straight line spped wise how does the exige compar to other cars?

OK I have an S1 Exige but in the past I’ve had a previous generation S3 and I currently have an A3Q (albeit an oil burner) as our family wagon.

The Exige and the S3 are both great cars but they are so very different. After a couple of weeks of ownership an S3 will never be an event to drive and will always be anodyne in comparison.

I wouldnt worry about straight line speed you should be quicker than an S3, before i got my exige s, I had an elise 111s and my friend had an S3 (the last model though) and he was no match for the elise it always just about had the edge.
Just go for it and you will be hooked.

S1 vs 300bhp S3 was neck and neck, the Clio V6 vs S2 Exige - The exige was mies ahead everywhere, same story (if not worse) against the S1

straight line is boring anyways
