A decade of Exige ownership

You’re right bud! I’ll get Matt to switch the engine round

Yep, that Honda logo on upside down just looks utter shite. You must get Matt to pull that cam cover off straight away, skim the Honda logo off and have it CNC’d back into the cover the right way round. Tut, tut!!!

Very nice Ben!

I know exactly what you mean when you say you dont want to rush the last few jobs, it will be all the better for it.

That does look great Ben, who is the trackday with at Brands and what date?

Yes Gav I firmly believe it will be better for it. Matt sends me far more pictures than I post up and its pretty clear the exhaustive refresh he’s giving the car fixing innumerable little bits and bobs along the way. He really is approaching it in the way I would if I had the skills/tools/space to do it myself…since I don’t have any of the above I’m really glad the likes of Matt Bentley Racing exist.

Tim let me know about the Brands event Ade, its being organised for TDI customers I think and is on Monday 4th November. I’ll find out some more details.

Very interested, it is all about noise limits for me, not sure how strict Brands is currently or i may even bring the Mini

You need a new exhaust dude. If you are choosing what events you do, based on your car potentially being too loud, then that needs sorting in my opinion. No point having something that you can’t use.

Yeah don’t I know, hoping to have something sorted over the winter to remedy it once and for all.

I can see these double barrel exhaust systems like what Dave has becoming more and more popular, especially if they make them so one part is very easily removed for the louder days.

it is what I would like to source, however my current system creates problems as i have a pretty much one off bore on my current 2bular set up so i can’t buy off the shelf which is annoying.

Couple of pics Matt sent me today :

Really looking forward to see the matt black OTT zircotec’d exhaust sitting in there :

Yup Matt’s been busy painstakingly cleaning, painting, reassembling :

Lots of starting off with this…

…or this…

…going back on like this

Quite soon I’m gonna have a new car…and a mentally quick one too :sunglasses:

Great stuff Ben!

Must be so exciting to be doing this… the car will be epic.

Just wondering, are you also fitting a bigger rear view mirror?

Where are the frickin wheels???

I heard they are in the paint shop…

looking great, rare that you get a trader who will put as much love into a build as a home one.

Wait till he gets the bill. :astonished:

Very cool Ben, did you get the rear sub frame powder coated?

EFA

So no I’m not painting the wheels. I did think about it,…but non.

Yes Tim, as I said earlier in the thread Matt is tackling it in the way I would have done it myself if I had the skill/space etc. Sure I’m paying for it but I don’t think you put that much attention/care into it unless you’re properly passionate about it,…I think he has OCD issues if I’m honest

As for the rear subframe Jonny I actually don’t know what he’s done to it but I’m assuming Pesky’s right and it’s had the Greg stylie rattle can treatment. It looks good though…

More pics sent through today, gotta love that exhaust :sunglasses: as Matt said; it certainly is Over the Top

Nice :sunglasses:

Very nice buddy, black looks ace
