A chance to drive around Brooklands!

… and help to raise money for charity! If you own an Exige/340R or similar machinery, then this may be of interest to you. The “Sporting Bears” charity are orgainsing a “Dream Rides” day at Brooklands, Weybridge in Surrey on the 14th September.Money is raised buy the public booking a ride in their “Dream Car” - ie your car! The route invovles the private road around Brooklands and out onto the resurfaced airfield. I’ll be out there in my Exige [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image] If this interests you, please email me your address and details of your car and I’ll pop a form in the post - [email protected],Phil

Sounds like fun for everybody!I’ll check the date and get back to you.Ian [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]

Make sure your suspension is ok as the roads around Weybrige are appalling!Seriously, be careful of grounding the front of your cars as there are some nasty bumps. The road leading down to Brooklands museum is also awful, but it is historic. It was part of the Campell circuit. (which was a roads of Weybridge and part of Brooklands track type circuit). Christine

Upon checking the date with my wife, she asked if it was to help bears take up sports they would otherwise be unable to - honestly! It’s childrens charities if anybody was wondering - http://www.sportingbears.org.uk/index.htm Phil, have you done these before? Do you potter round or give people their money’s worth?Ian [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image]

LOL!No, I haven’t done one before, but have heard that it’s a usually a really good day. I actually live across the road from Brooklands itself and have been to the museum many times. It’s facinating. I’ve also driven the Exige in and out of there a couple of times without problems. They’ve spent a lot of money improving the surfaces and facilities in recent years. There are certain rules, but generally, you’re there to please the customer as it were, but you don’t want someone throwing over your alcantara [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/smile.gif[/image] Or burning your clutch out within the first hour! (It’s an all day event btw) A Lambo last year got through a clutch and a set of tyres…Thanks for all the responses so far, I shall do a bulk mailing soon.Ian, thanks for displaying the website. They really are a good charity with loads of petrol-head events going on throughout the year to get involved in. So join!
