My a/c condenser looks a bit tired in some areas.
Worth trying to tidy up or not?
If you have the front clam off , yes. Get it done
I’d say yes whilst the clam is off,
But be aware, if the system is anything like my 07 Exige, the pipes then pissed the entire contents out, and I never did get around to having them replaced before I sold it
Can I hijack slightly?
Taking clam off soon to sort radiator/tow post/all that jazz. Last time I did this it was on a non-AC car, but my Exige now has AC. Should I take it to get the system drained whilst the car is still roadworthy or can I swap the radiator & Co without touching the AC condenser?
You can do it with some propping in the right places.
Hmmm…kind of knew that would be the response.
Ok, so refurbish the old one or new?
Looks like only the steel parts are corroded, and only in a few spots.
Isn’t a new one around £200+vat and shipping?
I got a new one. Then one of the other parts failed and the condensor packed in.
I think it was 280 something including VAT and delivery
It is a good idea to have the aircon emptied. The fluids are not as hostile to the environment as they used to be and can be recycled if removed. When the system is evacuated they can check it for leaks. Tbh, mine was a pile of corrosion and it still worked and did not leak, it was much worse than the one in the picture on this thread, the fins literally fell out.
Price includes UK shipping ( same unit as sold by Pro alloy)
Happy to do a package deal if you want. Pro alloy rad as well!!
