901 kg

Mine is a 2004 Performance Pack with Twin Oil Coolers (and without the Touring Pack).

The Touring Pack weighs about 25Kg and most Exige S have the Touring Pack hence the bloated weight.

The Touring Pack only weighs about 25Kg and most Exige S have the Touring Pack hence the popularity and added day to day drivability, making it the option that sells best [/quote]

I do hear that figure banded about alot but I am not sure what the touring pack gives over sports tbh? I thought it was just some extra sound proofing and carpet (obviously leather etc but thats not really going to make much difference as most sports have it anyway).
Cant see the weight of the extra carpet being huge(its only the side bits + under and behind seats), I have some extra bits for the tread plates I have never fitted and it weighs very little so the best part of 25kg in sound proofing seems a little high to me. Not sure what people think?

You could always chop off the ends of your indicator stalks if it makes you think you’ll go faster !! lol

I know someone weighed their NA Performance Pack a while back with:

  • lightweight battery
  • forged wheels
  • 2Bular exhaust
  • Panel Eliminator

and it was ~875Kg…

Performance Pack has race/lighter seats? harnesses, twin oil coolers, no sound proofing, stage 2 exhaust, fake carbon trim

I think the sports/harness seats actually weigh a little more iirc, the only lighter ones are the carbon shelled ones, how much does a race battery weigh? is it 12kgs for a standard one?
I think the forged wheels save about 10kgs (starting to regret not buying the ones the edwards boys were selling a bit back) I like them better than my Y spokes now.
Another question is what is to stop you removing the heat shield you can see through the rear vents? the cars with GT3 style exhausts/panel eliminators have it removed and I am guessing it would actually help engine bay cooling? You would need to keep the bit behind the number plate to stop it melting and what about the bit that clamps round the U shaped pipe from the cat to the backbox? some GT3 cars seem to keep it and some remove it.

Race battery is like 5Kg.

I’ve got the GT3 2Bular with panel eliminator. You can stick a bit of heat shielding on the back of the reg plate and it doesn’t melt. You also need heatshielding around the cat like you say as that puppy tends to heat up.

REFEREE!!!

S1 Exige. 795KG. 200 BHP. Gives 251 BHP per Ton.

S2 Exige S. 900KG. 220 BHP. Gives 244 BHP per Ton. So you need to get to 226 BHP for the same ratio! OR get the weight down to 880KG!!!

Seems like a mix of the 2 is the way most S2 guys go!

BTW. S1 Exige Honda SC. 280 BHP. Gives 352 BHP per Ton!!!

What about 300hp and 950kg, mine I think is a bit lardy, I must get it weighed but I estimate 950kg as it has touring and sport packs etc.

What did you do to achieve 300 bhp Ade?

Just to clear a few things up the 2Bular GT3 8", 421 and eliminator saves 13kg. My 200 cell sports cat seems fine without heat shielding, theres now loads of cool air (nothings better) flying through there with all the crap removed but a little bit may be prudent around the back. I have some wrap around the U bend which is doing nothing I think, it was a just in case for the body work near to it. And the registration plate just needs some tin foil (double sided sticky) taped to the back (someone posted that on here last year). Works a treat I’ve done 5 full track days and some long journeys back and forth and it’s still as new! My battery is an Odyssey with matal jacket saves 4.5KG, lying flat you can use the standard clamp.

I saved 6.7kg by switching to the Varley Red Top 15, will get some install pics later.

I have just got a light weight battery for my car, always had a standard one up unrtil now. My front end is now well trick with lots of new bling down where the battery used to go!!!

My battery install…

that would have been my car at 870Kg’s with 3/4 full tank aswell

I also took out all the speakers and head unit.

I had a spread sheet of every item with weights at the time

sad but fun.
