9.9 Second 1/4mile

Video of Logan’s car doing a quarter mile, currently the fastest street legal car in SA, national record holder at 9.735 seconds on prepared track.

9.9 Run

Wow That’s really impressive.

sniffs… not bad I suppose

Everytime I drive it, which mind you is at low boost I giggle, it is just so relentless, by 4th gear you kind of want to back off just to catch your breath.

Sort of makes my 250hp feel like 50

Wow! that’s incredible!.

Remind me, what sort of engine does it have? (I know it’s been mentioned but can’t remember)

Blimey now that is spectacular 0 to 143mph in under 10 secs

Ok, I found the original post.

Mazda, 2l, over 600 BHP, right?

That leaves the line soooooooooooooooooo well. What rear tyres does hes use and what size are they??

Bloody Hell it only uses a Calibra 6 speed box and it still gets into the 9’s!!! Imagine it with a dog box I bet he would save a second at least just in gear changes!!!

Back in my cossie days we data logged a load of quarter miles and with an uprated (Quaife internals) standard box it took 0.7 seconds just to change from 1st to 2nd, plus you obviously loose a load of boost that then has to rebuild before you are on your way again. The dog box with a flat shift reduced the change to 0.1 of a second with NO drop in boost and instantly took a second off the 1/4 mile time.

The problem then became limiting the wheel spin as every new gear was engaged. Ahhhhh those were the days. lol. Mind you each run would end up with a drive shaft of CV or diff or prop fubared!!! lol

Thanks Sean,

It has taken us a lot of hard work to get the car out of the line the way it does. The tires are BF goodridge street legal drag radials.

Strange that you should mention that about the gearbox we were discussing it earlier this week and a dog box is on the way. The synchro’s are not lasting very long at the moment, but remarkably well.

Very Impressive Jason

and a very neat installation too!

Yeah Dogs rock!!! Synchro’s suck!!!

From the bloke who keeps breaking his?

I thought it was the paddle shifting system that kept breaking it?

Ian

Amazing. I’ve never seen an Exige nearly do a wheelie before!

absolutley amazing how that car did that weelie!!! are those drag radials 315’s? also, has he done anything to frame, like is there a cage and such like that? it just blows me away that frame can hold 600hp!!!

Very impressive
