7000 miler for <£21k?

Chaps,

There is a silver exige at a dealership in cannock going for 20,995 on a ‘w’ with 190 uprade and only 7k on the clock.

check out http://www.cannock-automobiles.co.uk

The price indicates something dodgy, but might be worth having a look. A month too early for me, as looking to buy in Sept.

Be interested to know if anyone knows the car… (and what must they have px’d it at the dealer for!!!)

It’s obviously being offered at a discount coz it’s got “Central Locking” - my arse

No I know why !! - Its only got a FRONT spoiler …

it’s damn cheap either way.

Reckon its that sun visor thats affected the price

Put a deposit on it !!

I’m off to go have a look at this car now…will let you know when I come back…and I might come back with it!

Well Matt,

What’s the verdict?

Reckon might buy this one meself for me pension fund (creak)…

I never got to see it

A long-time-no-see mate turned up as I was driving away, so I had to turn around…

I’ve gotta pop out this arvo though, so I might make a detour. More than likely they’ll be closed, but if its on the forecourt I can still have a look around.

Went to have a look today.

Unfortuantely, place was closed so I could only just look at it through the showroom window. Looked good from what I could see.

But it had been sold… was it you Simon?

Someone got something of a bargain!

Could well be coming to a dealer near you soon …

There seem to be some that just move around dealers

I mean Y38 AEX has been at Nick Whales, Paul Matty and is now at Chris Neils …

Nope Matty was not I - if any more Lotus appear on the drive missus E will go loopy

Andy was that the Lava Orange one? - it must be clocking up the mileage around the dealers.

I’m not suprised they can’t sell it - 25k with 26k on the clock? Granted it has Air-Con, but does that demand a premium considering its crap and most don’t want it anyway?

So at what mileage does an Exige become “unsellable” ?

Is mileage a good indicator of condition for such machines ??

The mileage may be a problem for some people but the K engine justs gets better and better the more miles it has on it, how many here noticed around 10,000 miles the engine magically loosened up? the same happens at 30K and at 50K, strange isn’t it

Phil - you’re dead right - it’s crazy but true - mine seems to b get faster and faster with age and mileage

The majority of engines will dramatically loosen and improve, especially over the first 10k miles.

I wouldn’t say the Exige will ever become “unsellable” - as was mentioned in an older thread its a future classic - but like most people, a car with lower mileage will always be more attractive and demand a higher price.

But 25k seems a bit OTT for the car in question when we’ve just seen (albeit maybe with some hidden history on first appearance) an example with 7k miles sell for 21k.

That was a fluke, it can’t hapen again, a guy that needed money immediately.I refuse to believe our cars are going to be worth less that 28K, but hey!, I don’t plan on ever selling mine

Uldis

you have to think what the guy must have chopped it in for at the dealer in the first place - 18k, 19k??? Pretty confident that my 23-24k budget should get me a belter in Sept…
