6000 miles! worn out!

A"48s …can anyone tell me how much i should be paying for two rears…and fitting?
thanks!
ps…6000 miles and not done a track day yet!
is 6000 miles normal as i do not drive like a nutter on the highway!

6000… you’ve done well

wear indicators are @ 2mm so there’s a bit of legal life left in them and then a whole lot of illegal life…do a trackday with Bookatrack and then let them swap them over at the end of the day - they are usually very competitive on tyres.

I’m with Chris, you’ve done well.

My last set of rears lasted 400miles!!!

My last set of rears lasted 400miles!!!

Which trackdays were those, mate?

My last set of rears lasted 400miles!!!

Cricky! I’m not sure if I did or didn’t want to be in the passenger seat!

Ian

Yeah about three track days and a few donuts outside the workshop.

I managed 4500 miles with a few track days bought two new rears then a week later got a puncture in one of the fronts

here up north when i was a lad, hardware shops used to sell… “segs”…“metal studs” that you used to hammer in the bottom of your shoes to make them last longer!
i have just had an idea?

Anyone else remember the classic “tread extender” thread from 2001? I think it’s now gone from the archives, but perhaps Steve Green/IDG can ferret it out for us to re-read

First efforts failed.

It was a classic episode of the Russ’n’Pesky show with various supporting cast. The spare tyre hunt is another that comes to mind.

Ian

LOL

10,500 miles and the back two tyres are border line legal… is that good or does it make it sound like i been driving like a wuss!

Wuss!

I wonder if your nickname gas anything to do with it

Trance, whereabouts “oop North” are you? I could sort you out with a couple of part worns if you like?

Cheers

Russ

I have failed as well! Although, I am struggling to remember the original thread - was it about a product that could be applied to tyres to extend their life?
