Hi Guys
How do taller track day drivers get comfortable in Exiges?
My 2010 Cup 260 has the OE carbon FIA approved seats + standard seat rails.
With this combination, including helmet, a 6’ 4" driver needs about another 2" clearance. Without the helmet headroom seems tight, but OK.
Ive seen on Dave’s SL web site S111 lower seat fixed frames, but how much lower do you drop? And if the seat is tilted slightly back too, won’t it’s back hit the A frame?
The carbon FIA seats have alternative fixing points compared to the standard road seats. with proper race brackets & these fixing pints, can these get the seat lower ?
not sure about the 260 seats but i’m 6’4’’ in a 240 with the normal harness hole seats and the lower fixed ‘tall rails’ and i have a bit of head clearance with a helmet on
depends on your own leg/torso dimensions though and if you’ve got a big ass that’ll sit you and inch or two higher than an average guy,
best bet is to get some fixed rails and if they dont work get some different seats, eg normal exige seats or tillet b5 or whatever
Key is definitely getting the seat more reclined. This will push your hips forward so your legs will be more bent so you need to sort out clearance for the steering wheel. I’ve used the tall rails and put the steering wheel on a 5cm spacer and quick release. Like the wheel being closer to me anyway.
Tallrails didn’t work for and I’m 6.4 but have a long torso.
The centre of the seat in a 260 cup is held with Velcro. First job on arrival at a TD is remove carefully, and sit in the surprisingly comfortable shell - works for me and saves messing with the seat!
