599 GTO - most delicious noise ever?

Now, I dislike new Ferraris (and should really be revising, so, will make this quick :p) the 599 in particular has never done anything for me. But, oh my days. What a car, what a noise!

David

Nice :sunglasses: I’m a fan…love it cheers David.

GREAT soundtrack!

Have to say however… (even as a humble ‘K’ driver), the sound of a Supercharged Honda at full tilt, sounding like a WW2 ‘Stuka’ dive bomber, is bloody great too!

Amen to that - My Lotus Elise Exige Honda i-vtec K20 - YouTube

(albeit without the blower, K20s have an awesome voice)

David

Remind me not to get too close to one!!!

BDA on Webers???

There is somthing very special about a lotus 1558 Twin cam with the air box off, the Webers (or Delortos in my case) sound magical when ballencing the carbs.

Favorite is the coventry climax v8

Nice

The wail of the Matra V12 F1 engine at full tilt at Silverstone will remain with me forever

V16 BRM, my ears have been ringing ever since I first heard it.

i love ferrari’s but mostly the older ones f40 f50 gto dino’s

but should i blaspheme like this!!! might be looking to get rid of my mental S1 exige for a slower 360cs as they sound the nuts and look just how a ferrari should do, plus rare

dont make it to easy for me at tracks this year with a 360, they do sound good though

Slight drift…but a few picks by the production line when my bro picked up his car last month…two floors, Cali & 458’s downstairs.

He is a very lucky boy. That is awesome. Do come back and tell us what its like … please.

That is very very cool!!!

Lol I promised myself Id come home and do some work whilst watching the game but its a cool story he told so…I may bore you again Sean :tired:

What you see there is the ground floor, upstairs literally is exactly the same set up, machine for machine, lift for lift, tool for tool the only differences are the cars. Upstairs it’s 599 and 612…V8s and V12s.

He arrived at Milan in the evening and made his way from the airport to Marenello. After a short nights sleep he was collected from the hotel by his personal consultant and taken to the factory for his individual tour. The paperwork I believe was mostly gotten out of the way before the tour began. Museum first, all the old race classics and everyday wonders…with price tags of 17 million Euro here, 20 million Euro there and that car it has no price the guy said lol and it wasnt the only one . He visited the body, paint, engine, upholstery workshops, and the production lines. After a long lunch at a famous caf in the town, I forget the name they cracked on with the tour. Next were the buildings on the way to the F1 area. The oldest are painted yellow and there are plenty of them. Indeed one tiny building used to be Enzo’s office and right outside the window is still the old clocking in machine, I think thats brilliant! So there are lots of old buildings, new buildings, half demolished old buildings and half built new buildings. All cars are reversed into there parking spaces btw. The F1 area was incredible apparently, he got to see the new cars and he got to see the area where the billionaires keep there personally owned ex F1 cars. You know (as Im sure you do) for 20 Million Euro, you get to buy one which they keep at Ferrari and fly along with a team of engineers to any track in the world should you fancy a blast…in Nigel or Michaels old car. Now I was doing the math, but Marky and I met a chap last year in Spa whod flown his car out from New York, it cost $11k. Including kit and accommodation etc Id say Ferrari is quids in…Crazy :astonished:! He also pushed an F1 car with his little finger lol. The 599XX was there along with Schueys other cars. Anyhoo it was back to the production line where there was now a car draped in a red cover. As he lifted the cover the entire line stopped working and applauded him, shouting stuff like Up the Villa (ok not quite true) and pop a waiter with a bottle of Champagne came over poured him a glass, then they all shock his hand. A bit more paperwork and he was off. The last picture is of him driving through the Ferrari arch. I havent posted too many as almost all are of him and his partner and I havent asked him lol.

I’m very proud of him tbh

It’s kinda like that for me everytime I pick up my car from JSR - apart from they only have one floor of course

Respect to your brother though that is a ‘choice’ experience.

That is good news as I have next to no money to pay you with
