Due to lack of time to finish I am offering my current project car up for sale.
I have been telling myself for the last 18 months that I will have time to finish the car but the reality is that I won’t.

Can’t contract the last bit out? Sure plenty of motorsport houses could do the last push?
What you going to put in it’s place?
Muu
I am too busy with work and as a result I haven’t been on track for nearly 2 years now so my requirements have changed.
Still have several other road biased toys and another couple of track cars so I won’t be replacing this with anything.
fair play, life moves on etc.
best of luck with the sale.
No-one out there brave enough to take this on as a winter build project?
Would be willing to discuss ensible offers for the project depending on spec ref wheels etc.
When finished this will be one of the quickest cars out there.
I think it is just too much money for a rebodied Elise with an Audi turbo in it, sorry…
I have to agree with ade - I looked at the advert and the first thing i saw was that it was a P-reg elise and on that basis i think its way over priced. Esp as its an unfinished project and the bits left to do aren’t cheap i.e retrim and a full repray.
I bet it will go like shit off a stick when its finished but to me there is way too much that needs doing to justify the price.
The only comparison I have is the 430 hp ex Time Attack, Steve Guglielmi prepared Elise that I missed out on in the summer. It started at 27k and went down to 22500 and did not sell at that. Last time I spoke to the owner he had decided to keep it as it has cost him around 50k to get it to that spec.
On the same note, I think selling our type of cars in this economic climate and especially this time of year is becoming a challenge - 6 or 7 on Piston heads must be a recent record
I have always wanted one like this and for half the money being asked I would be very tempted, to be worth 30k IMHO it needs to be a finished Exige with the Audi in it as a finished project.
For me it is not an Elise, nor is a Exige. Not even a Lotus. More of a component car with a doner chassis.
The amount of money lavished on a car, no matter how good the outcome ever has any bearing on its true value.
my 2p.
When you consider the red exige that sold recently, it was a whole lot more finished and sorted for the not a lot more.
Point noted guys.
I think that a price drop to mid twenties is in order.
OK
Have now decided to have the car painted by a Lotus specialist - they has 3 Elises, an S1 Exige + a few TVRs in for paint when I called in!
Will then finish of the rest of the car over winter and hopefully get some track time come spring!
great news nick you’ll enjoy it much more !
Where’ve you taken it to be painted?
i wanted to know too…
why respray an exige is so expensive, such a small car…

Just had a 2K paint job in Alpine White.
Looks STUNNING!
Only a few jobs to finish now and she will be ready to go.
