What should I expect to pay for my 3rd annual service? I think I paid 350 for the 2nd year at a main dealer but now it is out of warranty I may as well use a specialist.
Cheers

There’s nothing special about the 3rd annual / 9,000miles service. Just the usual engine oil, oil filter and general spannering which should happen every service.
The other items which pop up over time/mileage are as follows…
at 27,000 miles
Check trans fluid
renew air cleaner element
at 54,000 miles
renew trans fluid
renew spark plugs
at 1 yr
renew brake / clutch fluid
renew alarm transmitter batteries (check with customer)
at 4 yrs
renew coolant
I pay 170 for my annual service/brake fluid if I provide the oil (this also covers a few repairs and squeak fixes otherwise it would be about 120)
How about if you do mostly track…?
How about if you do mostly track…?
Oil & filter change every 3 or 4 trackdays, or 3K miles
The figures I quoted above are for a non USA 111R or 2004MY Exige non S.
For “special operating conditions” you need to change the oil and filter at 4500miles, inspect air cleaner at 9000miles and check brakes disks and pads at 4500miles. It also says you should carefully cheack wheels, tyres and suspension but doesn’t give any intervals for that (but you should be doing that before every tack outing anyway).
On an S you stick to 9000mile intervals normally but you need to change the plugs at each service (they must fit crappy ones on the S???)
For an S used on track you need to change the oil every 3500miles, inspect air cleaner at 9000 and inspect brakes every 1000miles.
170 sounds good. Who’s that with?
I use a company called Automotive Engineering in Northampton.
Nigel there has quite a lot of clubman racing experience and is also a diagnostics god so when I first took the Exige there (after the car getting trashed by Stratstones in MK) he literally took the workshop manual off me and read it cover to cover. He also recognised every donor part on the car and recommended all manner of improvements. My car will be going back for its 4 yr service in a couple of weeks. He hates rattles and squeaks too so the car always comes back quieter!!
Cheers for that. Not too far from me, I may look them up.
Thanks again.
Thought i’d drag this one up instead of creating another one.
I’ve noticed on some specialists websites and the seloc techwiki thing that dealers are charging more for 3rd year servicing when I can’t see anything special needing doing till the 4th year?
Does anyone know what gives, or are they just a bunch of thieving gits? It pains me enough to pay for stuff I can do myself without being ripped off!
