A while back I had a worsening problem with 2nd-3rd upchanges, with it feeling rougher and rougher over a period of a few months over the winter period. Then it started jumping out of 2nd on the overrun at high revs, to the point where the car was unusable on track. I was bracing myself for the worst and making enquiries about gearbox options, but before making any expensive commitments I asked Sinclaires to check out the linkage… Et voila, it turned out that the quickshift assembly had seized up – one cheap part and a short bit of labour later and the problem was solved. Worth checking out.
Glad I read this, I picked my S2 on Saturday it’s only covered 2,000 miles & it’s the slowest 2nd to 3rd change I’ve ever experienced.
Hope I can get it sorted as it ruins the car which otherwise feels great.
