308mm Discs (NLC)

So there I was in my local GSF shop buying some front discs for my latest project. The Manager came back from the stores with a nice shiny Brembo box and said her you go Sir, a set of 308mm vented front discs. I thought, now that sounds familiar. Oh yes it was Pete757 and his brake upgrade.

These beauties set me back 33 + vat each!

Mintex front pads cost 32.5

I appreciate that there are a lot more VW T5 Transporters about than Lotus Elise / Exiges, but my question is why do we get charged so much more for aftermarket discs and pads?

Are they made out of better lighter material, or, (he asks sceptically) is it a combination of limited numbers and the fact that as soon as you mention the words competition / sports, the price gets increased by a factor of X?

Pig Iron is cheap!

Even if each of these disks weighs more than your Exige mate! :smiley:

So come on then Harvey ? What’s your latest project ?

I know he has a new puppy… :slight_smile:

That sounds a bit creepy Pete :astonished: are you sure Harvey’s not grooming you ?

Relax Con the puppy is for real - travelling in style;

The latest project is to convert this in to a camper;

Harvey my daughter would like to see more pictures of your puppy…is it a Collie or a Spaniel? :slight_smile:

I know it sounds wrong but she’s right here reading the threads with me what can I say lol.

Pete you have a lot to answer for!

Jonny, a few more pics for your daughter - Lola is a springer spaniel, now 13 weeks old and chewing anything she can get hold of!

You should re-name the post ‘308mm Spaniel’! :smiley:

camper - if thats so you can tow the exige to more track days then :sunglasses:

Yep Con thats the idea and having a 2469cc five-cylinder lump producing 172bhp / 295lb ft it should cope fairly well :wink:

Looking good Harvey

Bigs thanks Harv from Grace :wink: but my wife thinks you may have had a good evening and wondered what other clothes were before the tie and after the shoe :smiley:

Lola’s a beauty mate :sunglasses:

Dam, sussed.

Was it the spongy rubber matting in the back along with the rear heater that gave the game away Pete?
