3000 RPM on start up!

When I start my car from cold, it revs straight to 3000 ish RPM for a second or so before settling down to 1100 ish.

NOT good for my mechanical sympathy for a cold engine! Especially as the winter draws in… Does anyone else suffer from this? is there a fix? or is it a TADTS!

Cheers,

Pete.

Pete,

Our 2010 Cup 260 is exactly the same and has done since we collected from the dealer in March

It’s terminal, & expected time of disintegation is 6.45am on 10th October 2010.

Pete, Fit an accusump. Job done

Are you sure Mr P? I heard it was due to be at 9.45am on 10th

On a more serious note, get the Gotham or CN upgrade and the issue should go away, mine only revs to about 2k at most now.

Pete, my old 06 ‘s’ used to do it and I can confirm my ‘07’ ‘s’ I’ve just picked up last week, does exactly the same.

I’m curious, why would an acusump cure it?

When you turn on the ignition, the accusump ‘primes’ the engine by dumping its oil in there therefore effectively pre-lubricating the engine before you press the start button.

OK Ade!

Thought of that one. And yes it would solve the problem.

Gotham or CN???

Gotham. About 1200 fitted. About 240 - 250 BHP. Standard Fuel Pump.

CN’s. About 1900 fitted. About 260 BHP perhaps 270. Motorsport Fuel Pump fitted.

I have done quite a bit of trawling on the net about both options…

Cost is an issue of course! Like the idea of the higher output fuel pump as I would not want leaning at 8000 RPM!

Opinions most welcome please which way to go (next year!)

BTW… you are obviously taking about all the ‘K’ grenades exploding on Sunday before lunch!

Comes as standard on the Cup, well its on our’s and if I could drive half as quick as some of those on here (yes you know who) I would want more horse’s

Which accusump then Tim?

Pete Not sure there is much difference HP wise in the end between either the Gotham or CN one, plus you can still add the bigger pump to the Gotham it makes no difference to the map
You pays your money and all that

The lotus sport one Pete.
