2nd car advice - NLC

About to buy a newish 2nd car for running around in - budget around 10k ish

Must be fun, practical and suitable for wifey

Shortlisted the following

Honda Type R - new shape
Clio 197 or 200
Focus ST
Seat Leon Cupra

Anyone got any thoughts/advice ???

Have you considered hiring one?

So your telling her about this one?

clio is a bit raw so it might not suit wifey so much, Leon’s are good fun and cheap, but if you want 2 door the ST might suit better  I don’t really like the civics, not sure why just never have…

crikey don’t let Con hear you say that

I thought ST but showed her one and she went

She’ fancies the Civic Type R

Probably good cars, just never floated my boat, for a road car the effortless level of turbo torque I think makes the Leon and ST better road cars

Speak to IDG re CTR - I think he’s trying to get rid of his. I’ll speak to him tomorrow and see if he’s still selling if you want?

If you can afford the fuel, how about this?

TA

Nice - TA - probably a bit high on miles and big bucks if it goes bang.

Wow there tiger ! But then again I am biased and running my 4th 3008 in a row.

I’ve very recently been down this road with a similar list of cars, intitially atleast.

I ended up stretching my budget from the original 10k as I wanted something a little newer and that would be ok with some motorway cruising. Anyways I plummed for a BMW 135i and so far (4 weeks in) love it. Effortless speed, pretty comfortable but still handles ok for a barge. Oh and a remap should see around 380bhp and 400 lbs/ft. Nice that its rwd too.

May not quite be fit for your purpose if used soley for around town but thought I would share.

Loved my 135i when I had it. Only got rid of it, because it was too small in the back as a family bus.
