The S1 is testing my love to the brink…Mr Lotus has a lot to answer for re his lack of corrosion protection…BUT we should all realise that they are very sensitive to ~SALT etc…Ah well will keep me busy for a year or 2.
Thought …maybe the idea was electric generation at all steel /ali joints to power the ECO Exige???
Anyone in the market for a car that doesn’t need to buy from a dealer to get finance should buy your car it is a bargain at that price, most standard cars are making £24k or so with more mileage #bargainofthemonth
As the other lads have said Clive that is far too cheap for such a massive spec car!! Wish you were selling when I bought my 240!
Good luck with the sale.
It does look great. If it does not sell quickly it could be the full cage putting people off (it would for me). Can it come out with little alteration? If it can I would note it on the advert.
Car was built/specced for hard track use (& certainly not as a street cruiser/poseurmobile) & any buyer should use it as such, so it makes perfect sense to keep all the safety stuff in place even if it makes getting in & out a bit tricky for some. “Gentleman Clive” manages just fine & that should provide plenty of inspiration/encouragement to follow his example.
Yes, the front half of the Lotus cage can be removed leaving the rear a-frame in place, with some new sill covers you would never know it was ever fitted! But as Rob said, why would you want to remove it.
Yep cage is easily removable As lotusgray says
Here is a creaky video of a creaky old git getting in and out…will not win an oscar but you get the idea
(would some teenager on here tell me how to edit videos please).
and whilst you S1 owners are reading this could you please send me pix of the rear wing mounts from within the clam space I want to see the brackets that join the wing upright to the clam panel…look like bits of angle bracket from the parts list.
Next time I want to go somewhere expensive and difficult to get into, I want to go with you - I’ll just shout “out of the way! Bernie Ecclestone coming through.” will make getting through security much easier
