235/40/17 front & 295/30/18 rear

If you were to go for those tyre sizes on an Exige GT3, what wheel widths would you want, and would they even fit inside the wheel arches?

The next suitable sizes down from that would be 225/45/17 front & 285/30/18 rear.

R888’s are available in all these sizes.

8,5" and 11,5"…give or take 0,5" for 235/40/17 & 295/30/18.

You should ask the advice of the experts on Seloc I remember how helpfull they all were… SELOC Forums

I run 215/40/16 up front and 285/30/18 rear Kuhmo V710 slicks.
195/45/16 up front and 285/30/18 rear A048

7.5x16 and 10.5x18 wheels

But really ask the experts on Seloc they know best…

 quality humour.

I have 295’s on my 10" x 18" rims, but really you could do with 10.5’s or 11’s. There is only the slightest stretch though and that is with a R888. I like it because it makes a nice rim protector as I am deadly when it comes to kerbs.

My fronts are 255’s on 9" rims and those are a perfect fit.

Remember all 295’s are not the same width.

New wide arse rear clam

Shaun, that clam looks badass. I reckon in the new flat wide bits either side at the back, you should cut some vents in, like at the back of the front wheel arch. Would look awesome

Cheers, yeah vents in the rear clam are the plan.

Mine has been in my mind for ages and in build for about 2 years. haha. Its getting there, honest.

Any noticeable felling of oversteer with those steam rollers up front ?

Probably a bit hard to tell pushing it around the garage

Yeah as Ben says, it is properly planted in my garage!!!

So you haven’t run these yet and why the hell would you need 255’s up front ?

Frank I’m not running all my ideas by you, wait and see.

Cheers Sean

If I was able to get 245/40/17 up front that would give me the choice of A048’s as well, still going for 295/30/18 rears.

I guess I would need 9 inch front and 11 inch rear wheels for that?

Sean,

Have you cut away the inside of the front wheelarch obove the sill so you can get to full lock without scrubbing? I assume they are the 888’s that work out 638mm diameter overall. Bet you can’t get the ride height that low with those bad boys on can you? I use that size on the back of mine!!!

NICE ARSE!!!

Those 255 will wear right through the headlight bucket on an S2 at stock road settings, what are ya gonna do when the car is set up for performance…Instant oversteer and rubbin…

My 215/40/16’s will buzz the headlight buckets with a passenger and I run 550 lb springs up front with a 115cm ride height…

Good job it isnt an S2 then!!

OOF! I like that…when can we see it?!? I guess now is still the wrong time to ask for a hinged Motorsport engine cover!! Lovely work.
