to go to 240 will need injectors as the 220 only has 330cc and the 240 came with 440cc which it why it is cheaper to upgrade a 240 to 260
May just as well go for the 260 straight away unless someone has a complete 2nd hand setup cheap.
When I had the 260 kit fitted to my 220 about 5 years ago it was about £2k which was done by Chris Neils and included a service.
This included a new 2/11 ECU (which was sent back to Lotus to be mapped), Injectors, fuel pump & TRD intake. The invoice went with the car so cant give you a breakdown, but now you can get a reflash to your ecu which should save about £700/£800 I guess.
Oh and just do it you wont regret how the car goes with 260.
That is not enough to go to 260… the Cup260s also have a light weight flywheel, light weight intercooler duct and a larger intercooler. The ducts have a larger ID and smoother walls for better flow to the larger intercooler. The Cup255s and the Cup260s have a unique intercooler also. So, if they told you you got upgraded to 260, you got ripped off if it didn’t include the flywheel, intercooler and intecooler ducting.
got to agree with Dave, Flywheel does not give you more HP, the improved intercooler will only give you the HP for longer till it heat soaks, and the intercooler pipes are just lighter.
The biggest worry you will have will be the longevity of the standard clutch in a 220hp car, expect to change it soon and have that costed in your mind and you will be fine
All the other stuff can be added later to improve the car
Exactly why 240 is where I want to go, the 220 clutch should take 240.
This time next year, I might go to 260 but for now I’m spending cash on a few cosmetics, tyres, braided hoses etc…
Also just for clarity the Cup 260 doesn’t have a bigger intercooler or lighter shroud. The only difference is the lighter tubes. The Cup 255 however does have a larger intercooler.
I beg to differ, i had a Cup260 and the intercooler was normal size, for whatever reason they reverted back after the Cup255. The only difference from a 220 or 240 car was the lightweight tubes.
