Fingers crossed things change for your benefit Ade. Unfortunately I think it’s Anglesey being overly cautious rather than it being a strict adherence to Govt’ policy (as let’s face it, it’s not against the law to sit in a car with your Son!). It’s’ their first event of the year apparently, so perhaps understandably they’re being very careful about it.
The issue stems to the max 30 people in a bubble (they have two bubbles of drivers), they want as many cars running as possible in each bubble, me being a guest\2nd driver\tutor removes 1 other driver and therefore car from that bubble. in essence a loss of income to LoT. I was hoping some would cancel and therefore allow me to be a tutor for the day, but I suspect this isn’t going to happen, currently cancellation looks the most likely outcome
I was at Anglesey last year for their first opening after lockdown, it’s as suggested, they are being very careful and they told us there were plenty of people checking up on them, with the threat of being closed if they did not comply.
Sessions and limited attendance is a pain and I know knocks the event in the head for some. The staff at Anglesey did run it very well last year and were helpful, as always,
I don’t have his number, but he has already made me aware I am right at the bottom of his list for a 2nd driver place, I suspect this is because I am not a paid member so they are getting priority. I hope we might be up there as I will be cancelling two place if I can’t get one extra driver.
Paul has a reserve list and My brother is on it. I haven’t been made aware of a space being available for him yet so I’m guessing not enough have cancelled to give him a spot.
Sorry Ade, that is shite poor.
Still, look on the bright side, saves your son picking up any bad habits from you…
Snigger
The Missus has said she’s coming. She’ll go off and cycle around the island for the day.
Not certain that Prem Inn will be serving food but we’ll make the best of it
I’m very sorry to read all this. For Ade and that there are (limited) sessions instead of open pit lane. I had hoped with the vaccines it would be a bit easier in the UK. I got my first Pfizer shot yesterday and was secretly fantasizing ‘maybe I drive over’ but obviously not. I will do a couple of trackdays over here at Hungaroring and Euroring in May. Its much simpler over here, I was at Hungaroring last week watching a mates testing day from the pits. Everyone is masked but beyond that no active restrictions.
Since I can’t join our Angelsey love in, here is a photo of the 340R rebuilt and ready to meet you all soon
So , a door fell off the Elan on Saturady on the Fordwater straight at Goodwood.
No way I can get it fixed for next week so hoping I can hire something from Phill at trackcars4hire.
The missus now coming as well and will cycling the island whilst I play
Just a thought: trackday insurance.
I have just remembered that I need to inform my insurer of any trackday activity.
After our long enforced lay-off I thought I’d mention it here.
