Been mad busy all round last few months … now moving to Melbourne to add to the fun …
Well as you know we broke the gearbox at Anglesey last year and that was due to running it in 5th on the rollers with a boost creep problem which we didn’t control which in turn was probably caused by a new inlet manifold that didn’t flow enough to the wastegate.
So decided to try a few things and then found that one cylinder was down on compression and inspection we found some corrosion in the wall of the block … probably caused by water sitting there or something while it was hanging around … anyhow decided then to re build the engine which took some time … then the guy handling that decided to drive it without the steering wheel on and it found a curb and damaged a few things …
Rebuilt engine did quite well on the rollers getting an undrivable 450BHP “line” … curve would not be the right term for it … so took the plunge after advice from SeanB and JDS and had a complete new manifold and exhaust system built … that is just finished but now need to re run all the pipes and hoses and then fix up the curb damage … two new TMR’s, spoiler, subframe, spliiter, etc etc
So Donny would seen a good opportunity and gives everyone a focus to get the damn thing finished … or at least running correctly
Me too. Just a case of a nip, tuck and smarten up though over the next two months. New pylons, maybe a splitter, other little bits and bobs and a funky new paint job! Oil leak will hopefully be resolved fingers crossed
