2013 Eliseparts Time Attack S1 Exige

One quick question. How would I best go about setting up a ‘Time Attack’ PayPal account? Can I stem it off my personal account or do I have to do it from scratch???

Sadly, no idea but surely someone here will know the drill

Jamie!

Glad that you like my idea and you already have some ‘takers’! :sunglasses:

I will see if I can set something up for you…

If you have posted this thread on SELOC, I will make a similar suggestion on there as lots more Selocers about… IT peeps too!!!

Good stuff… give me 24 hours, unless someone can do this quicker!

Cheers, Pete

Your a legend, thanks very much.

Just developed a further thought on the idea…

How about asking Geary if peeps can send a tenner to the EP ‘on line’ account.

Most of us probably have used them at some time, so we will all have an account set up with them. I recall having a small ‘credit’ balance with them that I just left there which I then used on my next purchase. So ‘credits’ would be possible???

Then have the credit on the individuals account made to ‘show’ for ‘TimeAtack’ on their system.

I know they have had some huge bucks input into your campaign and your comments about ‘no more’… However, they are a major sponsor so maybe this would not be difficult and time consuming for them to manage??? Eg: I would just call them up, and authorise a CC debit of £ 10.00 as if I was buying something.

Might be worth a call? (yes I can hear VAT complications etc etc but perhaps not???)

(Maybe the sun is getting to me again!! )

As I said above, I just really don’t want to involve Geary/Eliseparts with this at all, if possible. I haven’t fallen out with Geary or anything, I would just rather leave him to get on with his own stuff right now, and not bother him with any requests/ideas, however small they may be. He has already helped out too much this year. As you mention, there would probably be tax complications to deal with anyway.

Right, I think I’ve worked out how to set up a ‘donations’ function through my personal PayPal account.

Now I just need to know how to go about writing something and introducing this idea to the masses, here and on Seloc etc.

Well done Jamie,

Put your details up and you have my 1/125th tenner support! :sunglasses:

Right, I don’t quite understand the PayPal instructions for getting this donation link up, but here goes. It might take me a few attempts!!!
I will also put this up again in it’s own dedicated thread on here and on Seloc etc with a full explanation. Thanks again everyone.

‘European Time Attack Masters’

Bugger, well that obviously didn’t work!!!

O.k, bit of a pain, but it looks like you can only add this ‘donation’ link button to a website itself and not in a comment box, but being a computer numpty, I’m not 100%.

Therefore, I have added a section onto my personal car website, with the donation button etc.

It’s here:-

Well, we just had a great little dyno session at TDI. In and out in a morning, no leaks, no issues at all. Just how you want it.

So, as we were short for time and didn’t want to burn ourselves trying removing the cam cover to make adjustments to the exhaust cam gear, we just ran the car as before, but with the lightly ported head. No other changes, same boost as before and on Tescos fuel as before.

And…we made another 40bhp at the hubs and another 60ftlbs torque at the hubs. So we’re now up to a total of 610bhp at the hubs and 440ftlbs. Not bad at all. God knows what’ll happen when we muck around with exhaust cam timing!! Apart from that though, the graph lines look lots nicer than before which was the main thing to sort out.

The only thing now is that our 3" exhaust is completely maxed out. I’m not too fussed though as I think that’s probably enough power for the moment.

Great result!

Now, get that beast across the channel and win!

Unfortunately we’ve got some very bad news. I’m afraid that it’s game over for us for the rest of this season and for the European event which were so excited about taking part in.

Yesterday, whilst testing at Silverstone ready for competition on Sunday, we had a fairly substantial engine failure in our second session of the day. Everything was going well and then without warning through turn 1, the engine let go. Until we pull and strip the engine we won’t know the exact cause of the failure, but having checked the data from the session, the oil pressure went down quite dramatically just before the failure. Now it may not be the case, but this could be due to our new Accusump not working properly, but that’s another story. It just so happens that Rex Stamp has now lost 2 engines in the last few weeks, also after fitting a new Accusump…

To say I and the rest of the team are all absolutely gutted, would be the largest of all understatements. Along with the rest of our luck this year, it’s the sort of thing that just makes you want to give it all up and find a new hobby. And with the budget we have, it’s just not an option to do this again. The problem is though, that this hobby is in my blood and I know that I’ll be lost without it. So I’ll just take it on the chin…again, and just keep on telling myself that building probably the worlds fastest Exige, isn’t always going to be plain sailing. Hopefully we’ll be back sooner, rather than later though.

So, as far as the European event is concerned, I will be refunding everyone who contributed in the next few days. Again, a huge, huge thank you to everyone who had helped us to get a budget together. We had actually pretty much achieved our target to get us to the event which makes it that much more disappointing.

Over and out for now.

Sorry Jamie, it’s a long road for sure but it’s not an endless path. Sit tight :sunglasses:

Gutted for you and the whole team, what a kick in the teeth.

You do know that you’re in touching distance of a properly dominant package though. It’s not to be in 2013 but you’ll be back…

In the meantime if you fancy it, get yourself to Donny next month on the 22nd and you’re welcome to have a punt round in my shed once Matt’s finished with it. You can remind yourself what a measly 3xx bhp feels like.

That is just gutting news for you Jamie… :open_mouth:

I ‘hope’??? you can nail down the cause of the failure… that will prove a solid foundation for the new build…

From my point of view, please keep my contribution for the Euro event.

Hang in there and best of luck mate.

Pete.

Thanks very much for your kind words and show of support guys. However, you’re doing my brain in by telling me to keep your donations. It just doesn’t feel right. Help!!!

Ben, thanks very much for the offer. However, as a rule of thumb I just don’t drive other peoples cars unless I’m fully insured. I just couldn’t enjoy it with the thought of something possibly going wrong in the back of my mind…

Jamie mate!

Help you say…

Chill! Think of it as just getting you a few beers in… there are some things in life that just don’t need re-paying ok!..

This is one of them!

Suggest you take Ben up on his offer of a drive… his engine in you car!!! I am sure he has the VHPD tucked away somewhere!!!

Next year will be great!
