2007 headlights on 06 MY Exige

I need to replace the passenger side headlight as I have cracked it (actually the Italian sun!). A scrap yard have offered a pair of 2007 headlights for the same price as one 2006 plastic cover. They said that some modification may be required, has anyone else tried this before and if so what needs to be done?

Ive not tried it but have had both eary and late model cars. On the early cars they are a cover, behind which is the clam with all the lightslamps/reflectos fastened to it. On the later cars the clam just has a hole in it and the whole head lamp assembley is a sealed unit. I doubt any of the mounting points are the same.

Does that mean you can’t fit HIDS to the later headlights then?

The later ones are different lamps, I never fitted HID to my newer exige. In theory they will fit as its just a ‘lamp’ repalcement, however I think I will be more difficult to fit.

+1, the front clam is different with the headlights integration (2007 compared to early models)

This is the 2007 version:

That looks neater. Does this mean you don’t get holes worn in the back of the headlights anymore then, and can run lower without catching anything?
