• Alcantara pack
• Radio fitting kit
• Category 1 alarm

• Exige carpet mats
I bought this car a few years ago from a private collector who had owned it since 2009 but only covered about 500 miles. At the time I had it fully checked over by Byron at JCT600 Lotus in Leeds and a C service completed.
I’m a Lotus enthusiast, having previously owned an S2 Exige and we have an S1 Elise in the family. During my ownership, the car has always been garaged and never tracked.
I have MOT certificates that verify the mileage, and a number of SORN letters from the DVLA, indicating that the car was off the road for a number of years.
I want to be as honest as possible in describing the car - there are few minor issues that potential buyers need to be aware of:
• Adding to its originality, there is some classic S1 blistering of the paintwork on the lower part of the driver’s door. This is only noticeable if you look for it.
• A small hole in one of the exhaust tailpipes has been repaired and included in the sale is a brand new, original Lotus silencer and tailpipes.
Other than that, it is in superb condition both inside and out as you would expect with the mileage and has a fresh MOT (10th March) with no advisories.
At the asking price I will also include a full spare set of wheel rims, indoor and outdoor covers.
Selling simply due to lack of use. I have a young family demanding any spare time and it seems a waste to have it locked up in the garage for weeks on end.
Please email Nick at [email protected] for further details or pictures.
I might have what you are looking for, apart from a different colour and a slightly higher mileage my car seem to fit your requirements. Tried to contact you via private message but as I am nothing but an active lurker (can one be described as an active lurker?!) I realized that the private message functionality have not yet been activated on my account. If you are interested to continue discussion please let me know how I can contact you.
Nick H, my apologies for the thread hijack but I could not think of any other way to get my message through to gregus.
The price of this beautiful Exige S1 has been significantly reduced to GBP 45,500:
A lot of the asking prices on the Exige S1 market are strange as no one seems to buy the cars for the high prices. The market has just stalled.
If the red one with just 7000 mls on the clock does not sell very quickly I’d be surprised.
The simple answer could be that there was no buyer for the asking price or in short: too expensive.
That’s what I was trying to say about the current Exige S1 market: no cars are moving for the high prices.
Let’s wait and see how fast it sells. I think it will sell for this price but I’m not sure if I would call it a crazy price.
I 100% agree with Trackrod. I’m a MASSIVE S1 Exige fan and as most know made a huge mistake in selling mine and want another. And have £’s to buy. BUT without wanting to offend anyone or these fantastic cars there is currently only 8 or so available globally and none has yet sold at these prices - the market just dictates that that is the answer.
One person advertised his in the £50’s and whole market jumped in that direction. That was just being speculative and based on being 1 of about 1 in that market road registered and cost the owner £20k in import taxes and licensing so had its own story.
I want to buy, no secret, but I have to do so with my head, and no evidence suggests an Exige is worth more than high 30’s or very early 40’s. There is massive demand for S1 Sport 160’s and 3 of these aren’t selling in the mid £20’s and and Exige was never worth 2.5 times a 160. A S1 sport 190 has been on the market for over a year at £40k, far rarer if your buying to invest.
If all the Exiges on the market suddenly sell for >£50k then I’m pleased for the owners, the brand and that they are getting noticed. And frankly I’d of missed the boat but had the pleasure of past ownership and some great memories so not bitter about it. Just with all the massively wealthy investor buyers out there, a true global market and not one has gone. I think it might just be that they aren’t in that value region as yet. Sure one day it will happen. But they are super niche.
I hope this car sells, with £10k price drop and 7k miles it deserves to. I’d be happy with a 30k mile car in the £30ks
Disclaimer: The following isn’t aimed at anyone in particular and nor is it intended to offend.
The recent discussions on price are, to me, utterly pointless. I bought my Exige for what it is, not for what it’s value might do. Whether it is now less or more than I paid is immaterial; I still love driving it and even after 16 years have never tired of just looking at it.
Talking values up (or down) is always going to cause issues for 50% of the people; if prices rise it’s a problem for potential buyers and if they fall then the sellers aren’t happy.
Best, then, to stop sounding like estate agents and enjoy the cars for what they are!
Klaus is quite right. It’s worth what is worth to you. We must remember that they are very specialist cars. Hard to get in and out. Smelly. Not the easiest to drive. Hot. … grab attention everywhere you go. Howl like an angry thing. Wriggly and transmit the road. Drive like nothing else. … but not everyone’s cup of tea who had been brought up on bland and rubbery cars.
Tlracer, fair enough and I get your point although the ‘stop the estate agent talk’ is quite chewy
Enjoying the car is the best you can do once you own one, I fully agree.
But for people that either like to buy or sell a car the current asking price situation is difficult to deal with.
It is frustrating for both sellers and buyers as no one can move on.
Not disagreeing with the ethos or that there is no point in talking values up/down. Or that it’s a better use of time to just enjoy them etc. Just indicating there are currently a number of people that want to sell their cars and an audience who would like to buy them, but the past 12-18 months has simply shown that the recent sale price expectation and the price people are willing to pay for the are not the same.
But now no one wants to be the first person who has sold too cheap or paid to much so hit a stale mate!
Had quite a bit of interest and the first to see bought it, the red one looks cheap now at £45,500 but probably held back due to lack of history while its been stored off the road for years
