1965 Ferrari 250 GTO

One of only 39 built, this one numbered 5095 ,offers circa 20.3m, has Le Mans racing history

Yours is it??

I prefer the 250 SWB for looks :sunglasses:

Makes Nick Masons a snip at 37.5k 40 years ago.

Yeah, not a bad return on his money there.

Has it had a suspension refresh?

Thought he’d bought your Nitrons

  • Strong racecar/homologation roots
  • Seen as too track biased to be proper roadcars
  • Low volume production
  • Often misunderstood at launch
  • Gradual ramp up of interest and prices over time.

Yup cars like Porsche 911 RS (993, 964 etc), 360CS etc etc and of course our very own Exige :sunglasses: …doubt we’ll ever get to 250 GTO money though

I guesstimate that to be 800k in today’s money.

Wonder if it was this car, I’ve seen it coming in and out of our trading estate recently as the guys have been working on it.

That one belongs to Lord Irvine Laidlaw, & he drove it in TourAuto 2010

1965…so that’ll be eligible for free road tax then

Yeah tax free up to 1972.

Not that that should be an issue if you have 20m thought.

Someone on here would probably buy it and put a Honda in it ?

Exactly, & then want more money for it

Just reminded my friend Ronald who sold it to him. He needed the money then to buy another special Ferrari. Not his finest hour

So , wad’e buy, spill the beans?

You say ‘special’ , after selling the 250 it sounds like he’s the sort who has hand controlled vehicles.

He bought Fangio’s 1956 Mile Miglia car. It’s worth a few million but not the 20M if he still had the 250GTO.

It’s a 290MM. Insured for $10M.

SELOC Forums third of the way down

He has rather a lot of Fezzas. They just delivered his Aperta last week.

Wow, that Seloc thread is very interesting
