190 or 170 ECU

Hi

Is there any way you can tell if the ECU is a 170 or a 190 just by the serial numbers or markings?
I have fitted an Emerald and want to sell the standard one got to save up for a seat upgrade.

If I recall correctly some have a coloured dot on but that may be for those with correction for the misfire mode. (So not much help there, sorry. Hopefully it will help prompt somebody else’s memory)

I believe the answer is “No, not really”

You need a pulley change to move to 190, I don’t believe you can just plug and play.

Is there a market for them?

I saw a few at the factory and I know mine is no different - it’s marked up as such on the outer casing in big thick black felt tip pen!
