JohnThe “standard” exhaust appears to have more internal baffles than the “sports” version. A number of people on this list have experienced loose/rattling baffles with the standard item.I believe that this problem is more likely to occur with the 190 upgrade, & almost inevitable if you go for the de-cat as well.It’s worth going for the sports exhaust in any event - engine will rev a little more freely, & its sound in the upper rev range is something else [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]

The original stainless Janspeed exhausts are being sold on Race-Speed.com for �325 IIRC - and the cat / exhaust mod makes for a fair chunk of the bhp gain of the 190 kit.Cheers

Thanks guys I thought you would say thatI did see the post from owen about the exhausts. Are these okI seem to be continually spending on the car, same happened with my Elises, never satisfied and I am going to Imola in May so anybody got any comments about the chances of the Exige doing 3000 miles in 1 week track day included and getting home without taking my own mechanicJohnC [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/grin.gif[/image]

PSI did Hungaroring last year in my Elisealong with 6 other Elises and they performed with very few problemsJohnC

I drive mine nearly every day, and drive it to and from the track for practice, about 30 laps, every wednesday and saturday, and so far touch wood, no problems.

Any suggestions on the best sports exhaust available other than the Lotus item & where I can purchase it

I bought the one from MotoConcept, look very nice and is light (also stainless steel).

I’m not sure that there are many different types around besides the Lotus one…it seems to be well suited to the upgrade, back pressure and weight wise and if you are still in warranty obviously doesn’t invalidate it.Lotus seem to have got it right here and Im not sure any aftermarket one would be better and wilth Owen knocking them out at the price he is then there does not seem to be a cost reason to go elsewhere either!

Don’t know anyone who has not gone with the oval pipe when changing to the SS. However, I can’t think of any reason why there might be a problem with the twin pipe - as mentioned above, it’s fastened on with a jubilee clip, so there is bound to be some scope for movement to line it up with the clam [image]http://www.exiges.com/ubb/NonCGI/images/icons/wink.gif[/image]Anyway, what’s wrong with the oval end?
