Would really appreciate help on the following:I have now tried a 111s, sport 160 and TurboTech 190bhp Elise in my search for a more performance from an Elise (I have a std mk1).Found the 111s close ratio box fantastic, but concerned about motorway cruising noise (do have to do some every now and then). Didn’t really notice that much more performance from the 160.TT felt by far the fastest, but is more expensive than the 111/160 upgrade. There are millions of things to mention, but if anyone could give any pointers on their experience or preferences for tha above, I’d appreciate it!
Why not sell your Elise and buy a used Exige ?I tried the Elise and found it “dead” above 5500 revsThe Exige is much more fun and if you still think it isn’t enough go for the TT Exige (260 HP)EricPS : I own an Exige
Thanks for the answer - a fair comment, but I still do need that element of practicality afforded by the ELise. Plus, I do want a soft top for a bit of summer fun!Any thoughts on the ELise variants?? In a couple of years I definitely plan an Exige - I’ll bet the 260bhp is as close to racing car as you can get!

Also, as you asked about the Elise variants, I drove the new Elise quite hard round Anglesey on Saturday and, despite the fact that I really don’t like the styling of the new car, I was really impressed. IMO it really is a big step forwards over the original car (I used to own an original Elise). The new Elise is still only 120 BHP, but I almost managed to hang on to one or two of the Exiges that were being driven quite enthusiastically, and IMO the over the limit handling is way better.
