100k garage - the new challenge

Ok so the new PH £100k garage is: 4 cars, one from each decade 70s / 80s / 90s / 00s

Go.

70s - BMW 2002 - $13,500 ~ £10.5k

80s - Merc 190E Cossie

90s - R32 GTR - 24k

00s - M3 CSL- £50k

Hmmm this is gonna take some research.

An electric choice there Tim. Love the R32 and the CSL. Less sure about the whitewall-tyre pensioner-edition 2002. And a Land Rover, in Surbiton? You gonna get some chickens and pigs and live the ‘Good Life’

So you’ve already chopped in the Landie for a Merc! Jonnyfox will have a semi, he loves them old Mercs. Thankfully it also comes with the original wheels so you can drop those drug-dealer rims.

The 2002 would be a project, and the merc tbh was a stocking filler. Being born in '83 I don’t really like 70s motors, unless they have turbo written backwards on there.

would prefer 80s/90s/00s/10s but that’d be too easy.

70s: 240Z

80s: Assume given this is POA it must be in my range  If not a clean 1.9 GTI in Miami blue would suffice.

90s: 968 Sport. I keep going back to look at these

2000’s I’ll keep my exige

I reserve the right to edit this when I get time

A tough one with the £100k limit especially with the classic & modern classic prices at the mo .

Yeah indeed, the classic prices kill the budget for the later cars you actually want

70’s, not an Escort. And annoyingly not on pistonheads

80’s, not really available anywhere sadly. Various quoted numbers made from 244 to less than a 1000. South African built. Homologation special. The UK version wasn’t the best handling car in the world and had too much power for it’s chassis. So the obvious solution was more power!! And an LSD, lowered, rolled arch’s, wider wheels/tyres, lighter, etc. It’s kind of what any teenager in the EU wanted to do. But you could buy one from the dealer with a warranty - Kadett GSi Superboss.

90’s, who want’s a 911 that isn’t trying to kill you all the time, where’s the fun in that! Air cooled, how it should be.

00’s easy. Had one for over 10 years, did everything stupidly well, front and rear ARB’s, decent tyres. Best memory was chasing a Boxster out of Brussels, racing the train alongside the motorway, 2 up plus spares on the way to Spa. Just worked really well as a package. Avoid the yellow ones!!

Anything left over buys a welder and some repair panels for the 2 Opels!!
