'05 Exige - no aircon

If you want an Exige as an every day car, (don’t flame me!) I feel the 111R actually offers a more user-friendly package (rear visibilty, roof off, etc,) then go for fully loaded.

Aircons great on track, nothing like bombing round a circuit in complete comfort

This explains why Pesky says you are slow M8… Your A/C is robbing you of a couple of HP !!

Mind you … even if you had 5 aircons running all at once there may still be an S1 or two in your mirrors one might even be a shocking dayglo orange colour

Oh no … I fear Dad might smite me soon !

Oi, cheeky lie spreading booger, I have never, ever, commented on Jonny’s driving

Well…only the once, on his way to the salon

I consider myself well an truly smited dad

And … it took you only 8 minutes to do it !!

Okay…as you’re an honest boy, you deserve an Easter Treat

Are you sure about that or has Lotus changed the a/c spec recently

I’ve always understood the a/c to shut down on full throttle, so all power is used for acceleration. The a/c on my previous 111R was hopeless on track, & yet fab everywhere else in normal road driving.

Tim

I thought the aircon on S2s cuts off at close to “max revs”, rather than on throttle position (subtle difference).

Either way, it’ll work on the slowing down lap…which is nice

Yup - the A/C does shut down at ‘high rev’s’ but mine does not restart automatically - you have to turn it off then on again… so semi-automatic restart for me

Lol nothing wrong with my Mo-hawk pal , need to improve the driving maybe…now back away from the barnet !

My aircon doesn’t necessarily shut down, maybe it does , cabin stays quite cool over a 20min stint…I should try harder hey lol. Well anyway with the weight reductions I’m making power shouldn’t be a problem when comfronted with a poxy S2 S

Thanks for all the input guys.

I was at Kirkistown yesterday and saw a couple of gorgeous Exiges, one was a Chrome Orange S…stunning in every way, I need one!

If that’s the Honda Elise you’re referring to I’m not surprised it was one of the fastest cars there…it’s Randy’s old racecar (formlerly of course Quo’s old racecar). Has he sold it to make way for the Europa?
