MFRU change

Post by andybond »

Evening.
I think my MFRU is playing up. I have bought a spare ( cheap ) and wanting to changing it. I have removed the undertray that obscures the exhaust but cannot still reach the thing.

Can I just remove the rear wheel arch liner and do it that way?

Is it near the ECU? If so access might be obscured a bit by the airbox but you should be able to get a good hand in if you take the airbox out via the wheel arch liner

Looks like it's just onboard of the ECU.

Hmmm. I think mine must have fallen off the hook.
I guess Ill have to take off the snorkel pipe , remove the ecu and have a look. I just could not see it tonight .

It's a bloody pain of an area to access with an SC'd car tbh.

I had to find an earth point for my CC pump in that region and it was lots of fumbling about blind. Best of luck

Thanks.

At least I have a replacement to know whay I am looking for now.

Its a black piece of plastic , in a black hole , in a really inaccessible part of the car.

Brilliant.

You say you removed the exhaust undertray (Diffuser?), try the other one - you'll need the car on stands and you should be able to get a hand up from the bottom, I can just about reach my ECU from the floor.

I found it!

Air snorkel off
ECU Off

Hand between my cable throttle and firewall. It’s there!

I unclipped it but I haven’t got the dexterity to unclip the clips and hold it at the same time.

This is a job that would take about 18 seconds with a lift.
