Front ARB

Post by johnfishcurtis » Thu Aug 02, 2018 8:30 pm

Had an MOT today and whilst on the ramps I had a nosey underneath. I have more rust than the Titanic!

The ARB looks terrible, so it needs removing and cleaning (lower wishbones are no better)

So, having never tackled this on an Exige, can anyone advise what to do. Give it a good wire brush and clean then paint/treat with something? I presume the ARB after the mounts will be clean as they are covered by panels?

Ideally I don't want to strip the front end down to do this task.

Unfortunately, the only real way to deal with this properly, is to remove the offending parts, get the rust removed (wire brush, bead blasted, etc) and have them plated or coated or painted.
