Agreed, no MOT and patchy history could throw up all sorts of things.

Reckon this is a great result for Exige prices. That Exige will require serious money spending on it.

But Lotus are not making anymore, so 😁

Good luck to the buyer, Hope's he comes on here for advice on these fantastic cars.

It looks like it’s been beaten with sticks and a tramp died in it, then the tramp lost the keys and service history. But still made nearly £31k plus fees?

Good time to own an Exige I guess!

Yes, and on top of all you have to consider that it hasn't the right engine...
Note:
I am reading a book about the Rover K engines and once sorted out the few problems, faulty timing of almost all VHPD,
head gasket and remote thermostat it is a light and reliable engine.
My VHPD has 199,2 CV on the crank without major modifications...
Max torque at 6200 revs, max horse power at 6850 revs!

What do you mean by “it hasn’t the right engine”, doesn’t it even have its original VHPD / Matching numbers? I can’t tell from the photos, I’m no expert! :lol:

Either way, puts me at ease that I didn’t pay too much over the odds for mine! :thumbup:

The K-series engine never was a bad engine for the purpose originally intended, ie. to power front-wheel drive cars. It's only once it was applied to other installations that problems arose, mainly because it wasn't intended for them :shock:

So it has the VHPD, but it’s being said it’s not the engine some would have put in if they built the car?

Or am I missing something?

In the video at the post's beginning you can clearly see that the car has a Honda engine,
or did I miss something?.

As said once sorted out the few problems the K is a reliable and light engine, much lighter than the Toyota or the Honda.
Just my own experience.

Ah, I see the confusion now. The silver S1 at the start of this thread has a Honda engine. On page 2 the topic switched to an Orange S1 with a Rover engine! :thumbup:
