The Exige has been really good in terms of running costs (touch wood) it’s actually cost me nowt in terms of wearing parts and it’s been on 4 trackdays, one of which was 2 days at Spa!
Happy days

Some new footage for you to watch in the Track day forum Jonny!
Where mate?
I drove the one of the circuits Elises’ there back in May under an instructor, on a driving experience day, great fun.
Meant to go back with my Exige, but work this year has prevented it - shame as I get 4 free trackdays with my insurance !
I’ve just sold my CSL after 2 1/2 years with it, fantastic car but quite expensive to maintain…
I am now on the look out for a weekend toy for trackdays and back road blasts. My company car gets delivered on Tuesday so I no longer need the practicality of the CSL (which I used as a daily drive).
This thread makes for interesting reading.
I’d be tempted to keep it
I just find driving the Exige to trackdays sometimes a bit tricky. As i’ve mentioned, it’s the noise at motorway speeds over a long distance, and the difficulty of changing lanes on a motorway.
I still have to try a CSL, but I really like what i’ve seen from my research.

The motorway thing is all about learning to trust what you see in the wing mirrors, which, if set properly, give a surprisingly good field of rearward vision. I now do not miss the RVM at all.
I find it incredible how many people go on about the lack of a rear view mirror, have none of these people ever driven a van? How do they think lorry drivers get on?

Must agree with Messers Lord & Booth - on road & on track you need to know what else is about, so frequent glances in the mirrors becomes a natural thing. Probably where my twitch came from in the first place
PS You either get “exigeness” or you don’t, & if you do…
Spoke to a guy at Rockingham who had a bloody fast m3. He bought the car for 10K and then spent 10K at simpsons getting it track prepared. It was bloody fast and looked awesome, it was noticably quicker than the exiges that were present.
Just my 2p as I think its a bargain for the performance and noise you get :O)
PS Id still have a lotus over it though.

That was Curly. He is a quick driver. Lovely bloke too.
Lovely bloke too.
Surely you mean ‘nice’ bloke… or do you really mean he is ‘lovely’…
Wells lets just say we could call you Curly for the same reason as his is called it

Not quite the same when you are a foot off the floor and the side mirrors aren’t so good.
Tell me that joining a motorway from a slip road is straight forward!

I honestly find it no different, infact I would say if anything its better in the exige as nothing can hide below your field of view like in the van. The only thing slightly more difficult is reversing and judging the exact length of the exige because of the shape of it.
Although I do find reversing generally pretty easy, my drive is a swine and I have had a few comments of how easy I can shuffle it down there, I guess its just what your used to.
cheers

Try driving a 60 foot, 44 ton artic round london on Friday afternoon…
Then you’ll realise that the Exige is quite easy to get into that lane !!
