Does ABS make a difference to pad choice?

Not if you take out the fuse !
What about the servo?
Does ABS make a difference to pad choice?
Discuss
Yes it does.
I am currently going through all the various pads, looking for something with massive stopping power (aren’t we all?)
But with very very good modulation so the ABS can keep up once it starts to kick in…
Servo still works normally without the fuse.
They just use vacuum to reduce required pedal pressure on the drivers part
And there’s me thinking all you track heroes were masters of threshold braking
That’s just the S1 owners amongst us.
Discuss…
Ok then!
ONE of the many reasons I bought (another!) S1 Exige is the purity of the drive!
NO ABS, PS, TC, PASM, ESP, ABC etc etc!!! Just me and the car!
Love the steering! Love the (Nitron) damping. LOVE the VHPD noise, character. AND love the brakes.
I can feel exactly when any wheel is starting to lock up… just modulate off to keep at that level or press harder to make it work. In other words the simply man/machine interface is what (for me) a Lotus is all about…
I loved my S2 as well… it had ABS… and I never disconnected it because I never got it coming on! Perhaps I was not braking hard enough, though Dave SL had me try some CF rotors at Donny 2 years ago and he said I was probably the latest braker ay the end of the straight… (shortly before I missed the Apex and went into the gravel!!! Ha).
I tried PF. Hate the DUST! And the way the pads ate by disks! The only other pad I liked were SBS but I gather they are no more!
Discussion over!
