Come on Chris it was great fun at Oulton after lunch in that heavy rain.
I’m with OrangeD, I really enjoy the challenge and the learning from lapping in the wet. It also dramatically cuts down on wear and tear of the mechanicals - so long as you keep it straight. Where it does get silly is when the 888’s or 48’s can’t move the standing water, then I agree that it’s a lottery. But with proper wets e.g. A007s your confidence is transformed.

Remember I only had 3 bloody tyres for most of the day never mind spares !!!
We have a set of new Yokohama AD07 wets in stock. These were specced for the one make race series and about as good as you can get for wet track days.
Unfortunalty they are definatley not road legal, but for anyone whos after a second set and tows there car to circuits, they are superb.
Just had the following back from Yokohama Uk: Hello Graeme,
Thank you for your enquiry.
The AD07 is road legal and still available, and will be for some time to come.
The AD08 is an evolution of the AD07, it is available in several different sizes and is aimed more at aftermarket applications.
I hope this helps.
Anyhow, I’ve ordered R1Rs from Dave at seriously lotus with some 260 cup 5 spokes
Unfortunately it looks like snow tyres might have been a better bet looking at the forecast this weekend
Yes we want pics as dave offered these to me too and I will probably keep kicking myself that I didn’t buy them
Hope they look horrible!
James
Thats just wishful thinking, they look fantastic.
So much so I’m trying to get a couple more sets so I can use them on my 111R demo car.
Want it as light as possible so I can give Pete (pete757) a run for his money LOL
first impressions are …they’ve been sold to me by seriouslysexy.
New tyresure set arrived this morning so they are at the fitters as I write.
I think they may be slightly lighter than the 240Rs, would have preferred gloss black, but I’m nit-picking
There are one or two grooves in the spokes which will require a bit more spit and polish than the easy to clean 240Rs , but i’ve just waxed them up with some swiss wax from Shine On.
I’ll be fitting on the car later and if it’s still light I’ll post a piccy
