I’ve had a couple of engineer’s look at the car, one through Sinclaires and the best pre-accident valuation i’ve had is 24,000 with a 6000 salvage value. The second one valued at 22,300 with a salvage of 3,500.
So based on that it’s looking like i’m going to end up with a my car and 18,000, enough to buy another S1, but not to redo the conversion. I’m told about all that’s of use from my car is the ecu and block, all drive train, engine mounts and gearbox are damaged. The 2bular system is bent as is the chassis.
So it’s looking like mr Punto is going to have cost me about 8,000, so that’s the entirity of my wages gone for the rest of the year to pay for his inability to understand what a red light means.
The best the solicitor can suggest is to ask the Third party insurer if they’ll pay out over the engineer’s report in view of the recent conversion, i’d only had the car a month…i’m not holding out much hope.
Im fairly sure you will be able to sell your damaged car at a better price then 3500 so you might be able to get something more to get you near your loss. I know if I where in the UK I would try to buy it from you for the conversion at least.
