They said it would take a couple of hours. They want to take the liner out, and refit it.
…to reseal a liner correctly, the piston really needs to be removed, therefore new piston rings are required and the liner re-honed, also the big end shells should be replaced.Check on what they are planning to do first before agreeing. If its not leaking then DONT distrub it.

I got the car back yesterday, and all seems to be well so far. I’m taking it easy for the first 100 miles or so.
After all that hassle (and six weeks off the road!), it seems it was just a simple HGF.
