Car was a very very early S1 elan with lots of race history
It needed a full rebuild but was going to be made into a 26R type race car for FIA duty.
I still have the remnants of a 1965 S2 with identity so that will have to take the S1’s place…
Things happen for a reason…

I was getting all excited at the prospect of another build thread
The next build thread will happen anyway!
I have a part built S3 Elan so will do that next
Its a full rolling chassis/body with roll cage fitted. I have a standard engine that I rebuilt 25 years ago but now have enough pre loved parts to build an all steel engine.
I will need gaskets and seals, a set of forged pistons and the head porting, should be good for about 150-160 bhp.
I also have all the parts for the gear box and diff except a Limited and a close ratio gear kit.
I will need seats and belts as well as a fuel tank
Plus the usual small bit you always forget about!!!
Once I get the workshop sorted and the car in place I will add some piccies
Look forward to another build thread, like you say some things are meant to be…
Exciting
My engine was blueprinted at 126bhp, not bad for a Stromberg and funnily enough the same as quoted for the weber sprint.
Save yourself the effort:
No fun in just buying the same as I already have!!!
But I have today ordered a race spec chassis and a full new lightweight shell with all the other panels, this is all for the 26R lookilikey
