I think I started this to just “vent my spleen”
The sensor is about �70 a shot, I’ve got 2 now that are basically new so I think my problem is wiring somewhere along the line… Although a new sensor sorted it once
Anyway from what I’ve read, the ECU uses the crank sensor, wheel speed, revs, the ignition signal etc and uses some funky software magic to decide from those input weather a large misfire has occured and if so then limit the car to prevent further damamge… A very sound idea in principle
So AFAIS, the ECU reads that your doing 0 mph while the engine is under pretty heavy load it’ll just freak out and limit you Mine will normally happen at about 85mph.
Also I was speaking about Randy’s intermittant misfire, it was probably the same bit of kit that cause it
