That sounds very interesting - make sure its not too long then

Thanks for letting us take your Exige away. Our friend has already asked when we can take it down to his studio, so when we do we’ll send you a shot or two.

The journey home was a long one, but very comfortable, shame about the hissing rain on familar roads when I was ready to open it up. I’m sure I’ll get a chance to drive it again in the next few weeks when hopefully the roads are dry (thats if Toby lets me get my hands on it again!).

He is well chuffed with it so far, just need to get that radio sorted now

Did you have the original CAT still?

Massive difference between wet and dry (more than any car I’ve driven), so be prepared for your smile muscles to ache.

Sorry Mike , good luck Lisa/Toby.

Ian

lisa and toby
i found the pagid pads and old front discs which are in good condition call me and ill post yhem if you want

Must admit when I looked at getting an Exige I never considered the looks I might get from passers by / other road users. Couldn’t believe it when some kiddy whipped out his mobile phone for a photo! I presume this is something I have to live with

Great run in it to work this morning, despite the damp weather. I even managed to get it in the staff car park which was a bonus!

Lesson for today is to remove the rain water above the driver’s door before entering… any other tips ?

Might invest in some sort of top-half car-cover to stop water getting into the engine bay as well. Does anyone have any recommendations ?

Hopefully it will be much drier on the way home tonight

Mike - don’t wait too long to get another!

Yeah Toby, you’ll never get away with picking your nose in it.

If it’s going to be out in the elements, probably the best thing to do is fit the S2(?) plastic engine cover, as it’s much better weather protection. Pesky, anybody, there use to be details/pics on this?

Ian

Lisa - I have loads of pics of this car - as it was mine before Mike had it. I even had some professional shots done at Bruntingthorpe:

I keep a piece of Cordek (about 1m2) in the ‘boot’ and pull this over the engine to keep water out of the coils etc when parked in the rain

I take it you don’t mean this?

What about a bit of rip-stop material?

What about a bit of rip-stop material?

Sitting so close to the exhaust manifold I would just make sure that whatever you used was not likely to burn or melt.

Top pictures guys…hopefully if the weather is nice this weekend we’ll be able to get out and take some nice shots of our own, I can’t wait to get it in the studio too

As for keeping it outside, I think we might invest in a car cover, going to have a look at a few at the NEC Classic Car Show at the end of the month. The plastic engine cover sounds quite a good idea too as its Toby’s daily commute, so will be out in the elements all the time.

We can’t make it this weekend, even though we would love too, we’ve got to get the sprint car ready for an event at Castle Combe in a couple of weeks. Plus we are planning on giving the Exige a good clean and polish ready for the winter months, and looks like an ideal time to do it before it gets dark and rains forever!

Maybe next time (seeing as we have got cover for 4 trackdays included in our insurance )
