What are those studs for? To bolt the callipers on? Why do you require studs rather than just using bolts like the normal AP 4 pot callipers?

Conversion studs have different thread sizes at each end. Loads of OEs use them, exhaust manifold studs are a favourite.

Oh well, at least I now know why you designed them, I also know why you might use different thread pitches to secure different type of material.
At least I also now know there is no point getting contact to ask about buying some to fit the callipers to standard uprights even with the plates I have to fit standard AP 4 pots :slight_smile:

But I would suspect the neck profile is either because of thermal expansion differences between the stud and upright materials or controlled elongation at desired torque, plus the plain section at 12mm dia is maximised caliper mounting rigidity.
