Public Road Driving

I agree, and that is how I can drive my Exige all year round.

It is sitting in the garage now, filthy, and hasnt been washed for a couple of months.
I have always been a proud Lotus owner and like to keep it looking good, but sometimes, you just have to drive it. In the warmer months, it’ll be back to looking a lot better.

Doesnt matter if its tootling along in traffic, still makes me smile. The occasional push on the loud pedal to get past people makes me smile even more.
Car is now getting on for 4 years old, with 30k miles, and its going better than ever.
I just dont need more than my std 190 (but it would be nice)

N/A+throttle cable rule as in my S1 and306GTI.

Drive my Audi much quicker than the Exige on the road as it’s not so much of a Speeding Magnet.

Although I reckon I got photod last night racing back from Brum airport doing close to 95 at about half midnight in the A6…

Did I say it’s in the 80*F range and sunny here today ?

Check it out Top Gear BBC want my car in a commercial spot they are going to shoot tomorrow…and I can’t even get Lotus to send me a decal for the car…

When the ask what kind of car it is I’ll just say," it’s a Ronin Exige"…

Big fan of N/A, I really dislike Turbo power.

Its another chance to mention my 320bhp 147 - the headline figure wasn’t that impressive, as you could take any turbo-charged hatch to that figure easily and cheaply, but it was just huge, responsive, crisp, beautifully sonorous power. Loved it.

I’m more open to Superchargers though…and they always seem a little bit ‘cooler’ than Turbos in my eyes.

Its so much better to have both…Life is short go big…

Even superchargers numb the response, like on my Mini GP-stonking quick but lacks that responsive edge.

If you want response turn up the boost…It works for me.

Im with Frank, its all about BOOOOOOST!!!

Always loved the V6 in my Golf R32 so I can see the appeal in the Alfa (was my second choice after the R32) and along with most I drive my A3 derv faster on the road than the Exige

I had an R32 and hated it :frowning: Big heavy 3.2 V6 with only 247bhp. It was nose heavy, thirsty and for it’s engine size, slow!

Anyway back on the topic question, I find that the quicker the car is, the smoother and slower I drive it. For example, I don’t feel as if I need to thrash the car to get it to go quickly. Most of the time I can just tickle the throttle and nip past most things. Of course there are times when I like to give it a blast in third or fourth gear, but that just makes me smile

Since having my upgrade I’ve not really given it the full beans on the road and to be honest, it would be hard to do so without losing my license. But it’s not just the power that makes it quick on the road, it’s the handling. I find that because the car has so much natural grip, I tend to keep a constant speed around the bends, without feeling the need to back off. Combine this with the performance and you have a very quick road car!

Is it scary? No it’s not, but with Jo Public doddering about in their rusty Mondao’s, it’s their unpredictable behavior that can make road driving uncomfortable.
