Pilbeam Racing Parts

I run everything Pilbeam has for the Elise/Exige!

One thing you MUST keep in mind is that these uprights/hubs etc are designed around S2 measurements. So getting the hubs with the S1 PCD on is a bit of a waste of time. Fitting S2 wheels isn’t ideal either. I ended up having to get custom wheels to make it all fit my S1.
Surprised to hear this. Whats the reason behind it? I thought AndyD/Russ’ old car had the Pilbeam set up (or is it just wishbones?) and DaveOz/Wombat 1 too and neither had bespoke wheels made? Although I seem to remember Dave having problems during fitting iirc.

DaveOZ runs the eliseparts wishbones/uprights.

I do seem to remember someone having fitting issues with pilbeam bits but don’t remember who. That surprises me though considering the work that Pilbeam have done on Lotus’ and I wouldn’t expect problems if I could afford to put all their kit on my car.

The hardest thing I have found is actually buying stuff from Pilbeam. I have tried on two separate occasions to give them my money (once for a rose jointed drop link kit, the second time for a full car set of wishbones, uprights and brakes) and on both occasions he just wouldn’t take it or commit to an order. I gave up in the end. That was a few years ago though now.

Not an issue as such other than trying to fit wheels with S1 offsets to a car with S2 uprights means the wheels stick out past the bodywork.

Pilbeam did the RSW Evo Exige didn’t they with RS Performance?

Yep they did.

Yeah the fabrication work on that RSW car was on another planet in my opinion.

A nice s1 chassis with a pilbeam rear subframe and a v8 bmw M3 engine… It’s on my wishlist !!!

do like their S2 pedal box
