Do what JSR say
or fall on your sword
Lots of people have told you to change to RS42’s - both on here and on SELOC.
Just do it.

Do you reckon I’ll be ok on my existing discs, they done less than 1000 miles but all with the Pagids?
Yep - just give them a good scrub to get the pad deposits off.
Thanks guys, I’ll be trying this later, I really hope it works.
Guys, some say that the Pagid rs 42 won’t stand up to a full trackday. If this is the case, then they will definitely be no use to me. I bought my car for trackdays primarily.
I’ve decided to talk to Lotus tomorrow. I’m amazed there can be such a fundamental problem with this car. I have been tracking TVR & Alfa for over 10 years & never struggled quite like this, or indeed, spent so much on brakes!!

Might help http://www.pagid-brake-pads.co.uk/products/rs14-black-ceramic-based.php
Also RS4-2 on there as well. Have used both and now on PF’s.
JSR will steer you to the right pad
42’s are a great pad and will deffo stad upto a full track day.
i have them in my S2 and they are great.
A friend who had the same problems, changed the discs from perforated to grooved ones. Then never had that problem again.
Me myself had that same issue on tracks that are hard on the brakes (like Zolder), but now that my brake cooling ducts are fitted, I never have had issues any more.
Cheers guys. Spoke to Lotus Technical today who were surprisingly little help!!
Also spoke to Seriously Lotus who were great help. Have ordered Pagid 42s. I’ll bed them in at the weekend & try them at Cadwell Monday.
I’ll report back ( fingers crossed ).
Good Luck mate…we wait to hear
Did Cadwell today.
A very hot day but great fun, & good to see plenty of well peddled Loti there too.
Sadly I do have to report that I’ve still got my brake wobble, although not a bad. Might try it back at Donington again & see where we get to. In the meantime, if anyone knows of any brake gurus. . . . . .???
Did you get the hubs checked ?
I had a problem with brake wobble on my car using the stock drilled 308mm discs. I checked the discs, but couldn’t see any problems. Did a couple more days, with wobble returning, and getting worse. After that last day, I found cracks coming from most of the holes. I’ve swapped the discs for grooved discs with ali bells. I’m still running RS14s, but the problem has not returned.
The only difference is that your discs aren’t as old as mine were. Have you checked the holes on the inner disc face for cracks? My inner pads always wear faster than the outers, suggesting the inner face gets hotter.
I hope you manage to find a solution to your problem.
Darren
Cheers guys.
Must admit, it appears that the 2 piece discs with grooves are the way to go. My problem now is I’ve spent this years budget getting this far!! I shall have to make do for now sadly!
Cheers for the inputs.
