Basically, the Quantum dampers are simply awesome. The Nitrons I used to have were great and I cant fault them whatsoever. However, there is something about the new set-up that feels a little more special. The way they make the car respond with small changes is unbelievable and Im very happy with my choice.
Nice write up. First time I hear anybody write about these shocks. Why did you decided to use these instead of e.g. Ohlins ones? I will start on the chassis setup soon on my S1 and have been looking at different options. The Quantum need to be good regarding the price. Are they durable or do you expect to refurbish them once in a while?
I chose the Quantums because I was keen to give something new a go. They’ve had a fair bit of tesing over the last few years without anyone really knowing, so I knew it wasn’t going to be a gamble. Durability wise I would imagine that they are the same as any other quality damper. Depends how much and what you use them for.
Other plus points are that they don’t use remote reservoirs, making them easier to install. I believe it is also possible to re-valve them yourself by fitting different shimms.
Your best off asking Geary/Eliseparts for more detailed info.

Anybody use Ohlins?
Anybody use JRZ?
I know SeanB and Gav use Ohlins… not heard of anyone using JRZ on a Lotus.
All race spec dampers should get refurbed once in a while… I’ve just had my Nitrons serviced after 2 years (although there didn’t feel to be any issues with them).
