Sean I had the same problem with mine at Snett last year…
Those motorsport roof scoops create a huge amount of lift…the force was so great that it actually bent the 3mm alloy retaining plate on the front underside of the roof!..
In the end I FULLY sikaflexed the roof on…
sorted!
Really sorry to hear about the damage Sean. I hope it at least goes towards exorcising all your bad luck before the season starts.

Sounds like its a monster, Sorry to hear about you bad luck with the roof, I recall Russ had the same problem with his car at Silverstone down the back straight.
Glad to see you guys are doing well over their and still out on track, my car is being mapped at the moment so should be on track again soon (about bloody time!!)

The bit that let go on the roof was the front edge. Bascially the part that bolts to the roof from the inside and grips the top of the windscreen surround flexed to the point that air got under it and that was that.

Yeah that is the stuff I have always used. Never had anything come off that has been stuck on with that stuff!!!
i stuck my old roof on with that stuff to cos the water used to leak in at the front which is a pain.

Yeah, the car is pretty much back together now and we have a week to go. The only downer is the lack of testing that we have had chance to do. The next time it will run in anger will be Qually on the 23rd.
