Welcome to John (JDS). This is EX-Plans John who has now relocated to the Midlands (Dudley) and is in the process of opening his own place (JSRacing)
I can’t recomend the guy highly enough. John is the only guy apart from me and Wayne who has layed a spanner on my car. Suspension setups and all type of road, track and race car preperation are his thing!!
Good luck mate, although I don’t think someone with your level of ability is going to need it!!
Thanks for that guys!! Will try to add where I think I can be of benifit!!

Can do that if needed to become a full member???
Please excuse the speeling by the way, not my greatest aset!!!
Welcome John, always good to have someone who knows what they’re talking about around. Saves making it up as we go along
Re the comments about my ride height above. I’m only down an 105 110 and has been said that has not only killed the front arch liners but also causes the clam to wear through behind the lights. I’ve put in some 0.5mm ali plate to take the strain, but really need to get busy with the dremel and take more of the clam away to make a bit more space.
In the original post you mentioned additional cameras on the cage. Who’s cage have you gone with? 4pt or 6pt?
Re the suspension you might want to consider a stiffer ARB. What spring rates are you looking at?

Oops by cage I mean the T45 hoop from Lotus. One camera mounted centred and another in the join with the upright in the far nearside of car pointing at driver.
Yes the suspension is going to take the most time to sort and I am aware that a lot of experience/learnings with existing kit is out there. The problem is I am going to be working with hopefully a new version of a less popular choice than the Nitrons and Ohlins so it is going to be interesting.
What spring rates are people running with at the more extreme end of suspension setups?
I also have worn through my arch liners with 110\120 ride height, I use 425\550 spring rates and an adjustable stiffer role bar, my only issue is I alway forget to adjust my suspension etc before I go on a trackday, so I still wobble around like jelly on track. (note to self: remember to adjust suspension!!!)

Thanks ade.
What ARB options are people happy with on the S2? I see Plans and Randy sell some.
I bought the eliseparts one as it seemed the best value and had good ratings from people, seems to work ok on the centre setting
OK
Lighting the touch paper…
So I have bought a track focussed Lotus product that is not suited to low track suspension setups, has crap aero, doesn’t allow good safety harness installation and has the need to prevent oil starvation?
So 5k later you have a car that is not as good as a 2-11 but costs the same?
Damon
You bought a road car, which is also very good on track -not vice versa.

Agreed so should have bought a 2-11!!!

Depends on what you’re wanting to do, & budget, surely?
Don’t get me wrong I love the Exige, it has quickly found a fondness as strong as my fondness for my M3 CSL.
I guess my requirements have moved quickly. I have quickly enjoyed the Exige’s capability on circuit and want to take the potential further.

Diplomat, moi?
Just not clear of your ultimate goal (for your driving pleasure, or your car) e.g. if you have your sights on LOTRDC, then you’ll have to be careful re mods. If it’s a pure trackday tool, then you’d perhaps best be starting afresh, & flogging your Exige. If it’s a combined road/track car, then upgrade/mod your car as you see fit!
